April Showers: Mother and Daughter Style

fashion/ kids/ maternity style/ motherhood

Even though it’s April now, our weather is still playing tricks on us (tornado warnings…really?!?)! So I’m sharing this matching mother daughter outfit that can withstand the April showers.

trench coat (last season, this season’s here and also here and here) | chambray dress (on sale!) (long sleeved version that’s also on sale here) | leggings | sunglasses (real deal here) | boots |

On Violet: jacket | boots |

I don’t know about you, but our weather has seemed to have gotten the memo that today is April Fool’s Day, because all day it has been dreary and stormy with the possibility of tornadoes…?!?

Regardless, my little girl and I are ready for this crazy April weather in today’s mother daughter outfit: our matching(!) boots and trench coats. I love having a little girl and getting her dressed up, and I couldn’t resist getting her these adorable red rain boots that match mine. And even though it’s warm yet wet outside, our classic trench coats keep us both dry without the heaviness of a winter coat.

If you remember my last mother daughter matching outfit post or my lavender fields post, you’ll notice that my chambray dress is now being used here as a tunic since I’m super pregnant now, ha! I like to get more than one wear out of most of my clothes (don’t most people??) so I don’t have issues sharing how I’ve styled one item of clothing on here multiple times. One styling trick that I rely on while I’m pregnant is that I will wear my shorter pre-pregnancy dresses as tunic tops. This gives me more options with my current wardrobe while I’m super pregnant and I don’t have to buy as many maternity specific tops that I would only wear the last few weeks of pregnancy. With my height and modesty preferences (and with how difficult it has gotten for me to bend over to pick up something off the floor, haha!) I typically wear leggings or pants with my then-dress now tunic-tops so I don’t have any embarrassing moments 😉

Thanks for reading! Hope you have a happy Friday!

xo, Sara
