With spring and festival season in full swing, I felt inspired to add a little more bohemian style to my look. I call this outfit “bold bohemian” because I paired a bright red lip with this simple tee, denim vest, and pretty patterned maxi skirt (which is secretly a dress!).

Usually I am drawn to outfits with a little more prep (or pink!), but I wanted to change it up a little bit and get in touch with my inner flower child 🙂 This skirt that I’m wearing is actually a maxi dress that I’ve had for forever. It has beautiful beadwork on the bodice, but as Forever 21 clothes are infamously known for generally lacking in quality, some beads have begun to fall off. I’ve justified keeping the dress because I tell myself I can fix them (I have most of the beads that have fallen off and I kind of know my way around a needle and thread)…but that task has fallen to the wayside. Instead of completely giving up on it, I have actually loved layering shirts over this dress and “converting” it from a dress to a skirt. I feel like this kind of multi-tasking can easily be done with any maxi dress, and it can add extra possibilities to any wardrobe without costing more money!
