In case you don’t follow me on Instagram (which you totally should!), here’s what you’ve been missing.
Don’t know what either of those are? They are apps/websites that have made shopping your favorite Instagram images much easier! You sign up once (with your email and Instagram user name) and when you “like” a picture that is using ShopStyle or LiketoKnow (you’ll know it’s being used because you’ll see a ShopStyle or LiketoKnow URL in the picture’s caption) you will receive links via email to shop anything that’s been linked to that image! You can also set up your account so that you can receive these emails as quickly as you “like” a picture or as little as once a week…or not at all if you prefer to just go to the site and see what images you’ve “liked” that are saved under your profile. This can be a great way to keep track of anything you’re interested in shopping for without having to search each Instagram account and/or blog for a specific item you just LOVED when you were randomly browsing Instagram.
And if you want to keep your personal email personal, I totally understand…which is why I (personally) have a separate “shopping” email account I use only for things that I sign up for online or when I shop online…that way I don’t have a bazillion emails to go through everyday that are (mostly) garbage. BUT when I want to find a link to something that I loved from an Instagram picture I liked 😉 or other things like an order confirmation or coupon code when I’m shopping online, I will search through my “shopping” email account vs. my personal one.
**Side note: Yes, people that link items using these programs (like myself) earn a little commission IF you click on the link and/or buy that specific item. As a not-very-consistent blogger, I myself don’t often have lots of things that I link nor a huge online audience (yet…), so I actually haven’t earned anything from using it. I use the program because it helps keep my links organized by looks and posts, and I can easily go back and find something that I’ve linked previously and share it again if needed (especially if has since gone on sale). More established bloggers use these programs as a way to monetize blogging, but I love how some bloggers have also used these programs on a grander scale to raise funds for other causes. I only hope one day that if I’m ever capable of growing this blog that I can do that for others as well!**
Anyway, hope that helps any of you who were unsure what exactly those programs are that you see so many Instagram accounts use.
