Whether you’re ready or not, summer is almost over. I’ve got a few tips for transitioning your summer fashion towards fall that will help extend your seasonal wardrobe as long as possible.
I’m really excited for fall, but it doesn’t seem like our weather is going to change seasons anytime soon. It has been so hot and humid here in Georgia for what feels like forever. It probably doesn’t help that I was very pregnant towards the end of spring and the beginning of summer, so I’ve probably been feeling this way a lot longer than everyone else, haha! So here are a few tips that I try to stick to when I’m craving fall fashions but don’t want to part with my favorite summer pieces (or sweat to death):
Easily removable layers. This way you can take it on or off depending on the weather (or location’s AC situation). With a light cardigan, scarf, or in my case a leather jacket, adding a simple layer to your outfit can totally transform the look of your outfit from one season to the next.
Bold florals. If you have any floral pieces from summer, keep them out for fall and just layer over them! I love this bright red, black and white floral print dress because it can be worn from summer and into fall with a quick change of accessories and with an extra layer or two.
Swap out your shoes. This floral dress could have been easily worn with a pair of wedges or espadrilles, but I chose pointy lace up flats for a more fall fashion look. Similar pairings like a sundress with boots instead of sandals can instantly take a summer outfit into fall.
