In honor of our wedding anniversary this week, I’m celebrating on Style Savvy Sara by sharing “throwback” pictures of my wedding dress!
If you follow me on Instagram you know that lately I have been celebrating our wedding anniversary! I thought I would keep the party going, so Style Savvy Sara is all things wedding this week. I’m sharing “throwback” pictures of my wedding dress as well as sharing current wedding inspirations that I love over on my Pinterest.
Years ago 😉 when I found my wedding dress at a local formal gown boutique, I was quite surprised to realize it was “the dress”. Before I actually went wedding dress shopping, I imagined myself in a dress with a full skirt and very voluminous. Little did I realize at the time that being tall and skinny didn’t mean that everything looked good on me (regardless of what my hubby thinks, ha!). So when I started trying on the dresses of my wedding day dreams, they weren’t evoking that joyful sensation of “I look AMAZING and I can’t wait to get married”. But when I saw myself in this dress I just knew it was the one. I fell in love with the scalloped hem and the flattering cut of its classic silhouette. The train on this dress gave me that “voluminous” feeling I originally was looking for in a dress, so it was perfect! Because of my faith it was a modest dress with a higher back and neckline as well as cap sleeves, but I still felt beautiful and classy on our special day. And when I look back through wedding photos I don’t regret my decision, haha!
